This vast, monolithic structure is the largest hotel in the country, with over 1,000 bedrooms and spanning 47 floors. It was built in 1995 and is situated on Yanggak Islet, in the middle of the Taedong river. It is popular with larger delegations. In the basement is a casino, and outside is a small golf course. | |

Opened in 1995, this hotel is 48 stories high with 1,001 guest rooms (which are, according to some sources, rarely used). There is a rotating restaurant on the top floor. This is an international hotel and the lodging assignment of many a visiting European sports club as well as tourists. There is a casino located in the building’s sub-basement. | |
